The Ethical and Professional Standards Working Group of SSG keeps up to date with important ethical aspects of sensory testing and communicates these to SSG members. The Group also sits on the British Standards Institute Committee (BSI) to review BSI contributions to ISO Sensory Standards.

She is a founder member and past Chair of SSG, and feels that participating in the SSG allows her to give something back by helping to shape the future of sensory science and to raise its profile and professional standing, whilst benefiting from networking and learning opportunities.

Virginie joined the SSG to work towards improving standards in sensory, and to stay aware of the latest methods. She sees it as important for participating in discussion forums, networking with other professionals and to improve the credibility and visibility of sensory science.

Vicky is the sensory expert sitting on BAT’s Human Research Committee which considers the ethics of sensory & consumer research. Her PhD at Nottingham University explored the sensory properties of chocolate in different matrices. Vicky joined the SSG to network, keep up-to-date and make the most of knowledge-sharing opportunities.
