IFST gives notice that there is a vacancy for Honorary Treasurer open for election to our Board of Trustees, whose term of office will begin after our 2025 AGM.
Serving as a Board Member and Trustee at IFST is a rewarding experience, and one that we would welcome all our professional members to consider. Being a Trustee means that you will play a vital strategic role in shaping the future of the Institute and our activities. Prior experience as a Trustee/Director is not essential and all newly elected Trustees have training provided, plus the support of other Board Members and the IFST executive team.
The time commitment for the role is approximately 7-10 days a year, with attendance of up to six Board meetings held across the year. Board of Trustee meetings are held in-person at our London Office whenever possible. Although the post is not remunerated, travel expenses are provided in accordance with the IFST Expenses Policy for any meetings that need to be attended physically. Trustees need to be prepared to engage in the detail of issues that emerge during the year, serving on committees and working groups as required, providing sound leadership and acting as a credible, authoritative advocate for the profession. The Honorary Treasurer role will be taken up after the AGM in March 2025, following their election by the membership.
We want our Board of Trustees to be as inclusive as possible. Our Institute benefits in having membership from different backgrounds and experience levels, and we know that our strength is made by this range of opinions and expertise. Therefore, we encourage all our professional members to consider this opportunity. IFST’s Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Statement can be found here.
