Off-the-job training requirement for apprenticeships in England

The Education and Skills Funding Agency (EFSA) has released a survey to seek feedback on four draft products it has created to provide additional support for employers on the 20% off-the-job training requirement for apprenticeships in England. They are aware that while employers recognise the importance of off-the-job training, there is the opportunity for the Agency to better explain the flexibilities in how it can be delivered.

The products are:

  • Flowchart infographic to set out the highest-level principles of off-the-job training to help you determine which activities count
  • Collated myth-busting document to illustrate the flexible ways off-the-job training can be delivered
  • Two example myth-busting infographics to illustrate the format of each individual myth

The survey closes on 17 August 2018. To ensure the products meet employer’s needs, the Education and Skills Funding Agency will review the feedback received on each product and amend them as necessary so that they can be publicised in September.
