Defra’s Secretary of State has invited Henry Dimbleby to lead an independent review to inform a National Food Strategy. This will to cover the entire food chain, from field to fork: the production, marketing, processing, sale and purchase of food (for consumption in the home and out of it), and the consumer practices, resources and institutions involved in these processes.
As part of this review, Henry launched a call for evidence this summer consulting stakeholders and his independent review will be published in summer 2020. The government will then develop a National Food Strategy white paper informed by this independent review, among other things, six months after publication.
