Congratulations to Christina Dietz, a Brewing and Sensory Science PhD student from the University of Nottingham, who has been awarded an IFST travel bursary of £500 to attend the 2018 European Brewery Convention Symposium in Nuremberg, Germany. At the conference she will present her research project which characterises the sensory properties of hop aromas which have been sustainably fractioned using supercritical CO2.
Christina’s research was selected from a shortlist of 7 research abstracts which covered a variety of topics including sensory science, nutrition and food safety. But ultimately Christina’s abstract stood out as the most worthy of receiving the bursary. We would like to say a big thankyou to Anil de Sequeira of Bath Spa University for assisting in the assessment process.
