The Advisory Committee for Novel Food and Processes (ACNFP) has reviewed two applications from companies seeking authorisation for their products in the European Union. It is now seeking comments on their opinions to inform the discussion of these dossiers at EU level.
The first application is seeking to extend the types of food in which oils rich in DHA fatty acids produced from microalgae can be used. The second application is for a product produced from a combined extract of lychee fruit and green tea. It is intended to be used in a range of foods including dairy products and bakery products.
The closing date for comments is 10 November 2017.
