Following a review by the Board of Trustees on how we can prioritise our work in education and professional development we are very pleased to announce a new combined Education and Professional Development Committee. We are seeking members to join us.
Aim & Purpose:
The Education and Professional Development Committee oversees and promotes IFST’s professional recognition; sets and monitors professional standards including IFST membership; develops and promotes educational resources and activities to inspire and attract individuals to work in food science and technology, and to encourage members to join, stay and develop their professional knowledge throughout their career.
Who?
We want to ensure that the Committee is representative of all ages and all relevant sectors and stakeholders, including academia, industry and education.
When?
There will be bimonthly online meetings, or as needed to meet the specific needs at the time. The time of these will be agreed upon by the members including consideration of daytime or evening meetings, workplace commitments and members’ ability to attend occasionally rather than regularly. The meetings will be recorded to enable engagement by individuals not able to attend at a specific time.
