WIN a Free Place at Spring Conference 2023 and a Year's Free IFST Membership!

Ahead of the live and in-person IFST Spring Conference 2023, we are excited to be partnering with the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) to announce 10 early-career bursaries for food scientists to attend the conference.

The bursaries will give free entry to the hotly-anticipated SC23 which will be taking place on 27 April 2023 at Cardiff Metropolitan University in South Wales. Awardees will also be given a year’s IFST membership, gaining them access to the UK’s leading professional body for those in the food sector.

The bursary is part of IFST’s ongoing efforts to bring new voices into the dynamic world of food science and technology. Members of IFST can participate in ever-growing Special Interest Groups covering subjects from Food Safety and Food Innovation to Sensory Science.

With over 3,500 members spanning the full spectrum of food-related professions, bursary winners will be able to access and network with a diverse group from around the world. As members, they will also receive the Food Science and Technology magazine, which is published quarterly. The magazine covers key issues and news from the world of food, while updating members about developments within IFST.

We encourage early-career food scientists from all backgrounds to apply to this exciting opportunity and are looking forward to selecting and announcing the winners.

To apply, we ask you to submit a 500-word case study about your achievements and contributions in the area of food safety, with a particular focus on the last year where possible.

The 10 winners will be selected by an expert panel from the IFST team!

Applications to the bursary will close one month before the conference on March 24.

Entrants should note that IFST is not able to cover transport costs to and from SC23 or overnight accommodation.
