IFST is delighted to announce that Dr Craig Leadley is to be appointed as our new Chief Executive. Craig will start with the Institute later this year.
With over two decades in the food and drink sector, he has focused on technical innovation and applied research. Starting in a Hull factory, his passion for research led him to leadership roles at Campden BRI, where he led teams across various disciplines, delivering services to the food industry. As head of Strategic Knowledge Development, he coordinated research and fostered industry-leading innovations.
IFST President Sterling Crew commented "We are pleased to announce that Craig Leadley will be joining the Institute of Food Science & Technology (IFST) as our new Chief Executive. Craig is a highly respected figure within the food sector, and many of our members will already be familiar with his outstanding voluntary contributions to the IFST over the years. I am confident that Craig will bring significant value to our membership and provide strong leadership as we move forward into an exciting future, especially as we continue to celebrate our Jubilee year. I would also like to take this opportunity to express my gratitude to Chris Gilbert-Wood for his exemplary work as Acting Chief Executive."
Craig commented “I am truly honoured and excited to join the Institute of Food Science & Technology as Chief Executive. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about driving innovation and collaboration within the food sector, and it is a privilege to lead an organisation that plays such a pivotal role in advancing food science and technology. I look forward to working closely with our members and partners to continue building on IFST’s strong foundation, fostering growth, and supporting the development of our industry as we navigate the challenges and opportunities ahead.”
Craig will be attending IFST’s Autumn Conference on 14-15 October 2024 – details of this key event in IFST’s calendar can be found here.
