Exploring XR: Redefining the Future of Skills

This event is hosted by Food Innovation SIG (Product & Packaging) and Eastern Branch and sponsored by Eastern Education Groups (EEG), XR Lab and Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST).

Timings:

In-person: 10:30am - 2:00pm

Online Live Streaming: 11:00am - 12:00pm

Delegates attending in-person will experience a combination of Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality technologies and environments. There will be a 'have a go' participation experience only for in-person delegates from 12:00 - 1:30pm. There is free on-site parking available.

Delegates attending online will join a live stream presentation from the XR Lab.

This government funded purpose-built facility was officially opened in 2023 to provide innovative teaching and learning methods that can be applied to many practical situations including food science and technology. https://www.universitystudies.wsc.ac.uk/xrlab

Target audience: IFST members working in a food or drink related 'hands on' role in manufacturing, research, testing, regulatory, academia.

Tom Lloyd - Executive Director: Skills, Innovation and Strategy Development.

Tom is responsible for ensuring Eastern Educations Group's curriculum offer is representative of employer need and is responsive to the local, regional, national skill requirements.
