ECOTROPHELIA
ECOTROPHELIA UK is a national competition for the creation of eco-innovative food products. The competition is organised jointly by the Institute of Food Science & Technology and Campden BRI. Each year, the winning UK team goes on to represent the UK at the European final. The competition is open to teams of students registered at a university or other establishment of scientific/technical higher education. Ideally, teams should be made up of between 4 and 6 students but may have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 10. Interested in taking part? |

Inspire 4 Ecotrophelia, is a pilot programme developed with run by EIT Food that has been incorporated into Ecotrophelia UK to enable students to advance an innovative business proposition in preparation for the pitch events. In addition, the skills students develop will be valuable to their future career. |
See the results from our 2024 competion. Seven teams battled it out for the gold prize in the UK final held at Nestlé Product Technology Centre in York. The winners were BoozyBalls from the University of Surrey. The team developed alcoholic boba pearls created from food waste. |
